BREAST SURGERY

As a woman, Dr. Rasmussen understands the personal nature of a woman's decision to have breast surgery.

Whether a woman chooses breast surgery to reduce discomfort from large breasts... implants to better balance her body... breast lifting to restore a more youthful shape... or reconstruction to aid in rehabilitation after breast cancer surgery,  Dr. Rasmussen uses her more than 20 years experience to incorporate both the art and science of breast surgery.

By paying close attention to the individual needs and promoting realistic expectations, Dr. Rasmussen can ensure natural, personalized results.

Breast Augmentation

While breast size may not be important to some women, others may feel that small breasts not only limit their fashion choices, but can negatively affect their body image.  The goal of breast augmentation is to increase fullness and projection of the breasts to improve the balance in a woman's figure.  Often, the surgery can enhance her self-image and self-confidence.

Breast Lift

A woman's breasts naturally changes over time, inevitably losing their youthful, firm and uplifted contours.  These changes  in breast volume and loss of skin elasticity, can result from pregnancy, breast-feeding, weight fluctuations, aging, and gravity.  Heredity may also be a factor,  and even a woman in her late teens or early 20's may experience loose, sagging breast tissue.  Breasts that have lost their youthful shape and firmness can affect a woman's self-image and self-confidence.

Breast Reduction

Women with large, heavy breasts experience more than dissatisfaction with body image - they usually experience physical symptoms including neck or back discomfort.  Overly large breasts and the weight of excess breast tissue can cause pain and physical conditions that impair a woman's ability to lead an active life or exercise regularly.  The emotional discomfort and self-consciousness often associated with having large, pendulous breasts is as important an issue to many of theses women as the physical discomfort and pain.

Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction is a positive step to help the post-mastectomy patient begin to recover both physically and emotionally for a woman whose breast has been partially or completely removed due to cancer or other disease.  Through a combination of plastic surgery techniques, not only is breast fullness and feature restored, but a woman's self-image, self confidence and quality of life can be dramatically improved.

Gynecomastia/Male Breast Reduction

Gynecomastia is the medical term for over developed breasts in men.  It may be due to a variety of medical conditions or certain medications which may or may not be reversed by medical intervention.  In the majority of cases, there is no known cause.  Male breast reduction is the surgical  procedure which corrects over developed male breasts, creating a flatter, firmer and more masculine chest contour.
