ENDERMOLOGIE FOR CELLULITE TREATMENT
Cellulite is a skin condition, which affects more than 90% of women. Directly related to hormonal variations, it also tends to worsen with age. Resulting from microcirculation impairment; cellulite is a vicious circle involving fluid retention, enlargement of fat cells and an alteration of connective tissue.
Clinically, the appearance of cellulite is the result of enlarged female hypodermic lobules, which give the skin the dimpled "orange peel" look. AS a woman you have two opposing forces which create this visible appearance of cellulite: Vertical connective tissue pulling down on the skin. And fluid retention and enlarged fat cells pushing up on the skin.
Because cellulite is a complex problem, it must be addressed from the subcutaneous layer, to act on fluid retention. Whereas both diet and exercise affect deep fat, they fail to act on the underlying cause of cellulite in the superficial tissue of your skin. Even women who exercise regularly and follow low fat-diets may still have cellulite.
Since its introduction to the United States from Europe, Endermologie satisfactorily demonstrated to the FDA that it does, in fact, temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite and circumferential body measurements in cellulite treated areas.
Endermologie is a non-invasive body contouring technique which uses a device that combines a rolling process with variable and mobile external aspiration during weekly 35 minute sessions. This continuing process improves blood flow, which in turn increases the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues. It also improves blood flow, which in turn increases the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues. It also improves venous and lymphatic drainage, which allow for the removal of significant toxic and metabolic wastes from the tissues.
As with any "anti-aging" program, the results of Endermologie on cellulite are temporary and the upkeep and maintenance are an on-going process (like healthy eating habits and regular exercise... or regular appointments to the hairdresser or manicurist!). Based on our experience, we recommend treatments for cellulite every week for 15-20 sessions, followed by regular maintenance sessions every 2-3 weeks. Many Europeans consider Endermologie a part of their routine maintenance to an increased sense of well being and schedule weekly treatments.
In my practice, I use Endermologie not only for the improvement of the appearance of cellulite, but I also fined it extremely beneficial when used post operatively in conjunction with standard surgical procedures such as liposuction and lipectomy (such as abdominoplasty). Even postoperative facial cosmetic surgical procedures can be enhanced with treatments. The production of visible scar tissue and contour irregularities as well as persistent swelling or lymphedema is minimized by enhancing the reabsorption of stagnant blood and fluids within the tissues.
Beyond the aesthetic benefits of Endermologie, it has also been FDA approved to relax muscles locally, relieve muscle spasms, and relieve minor aches and pains. Some athletes are now using it as part of their training programs.
