Physicians Can Be Confused About Technology Too!
I have previously addressed how Plastic Surgery patients are bombarded with information that is often misleading … the old saying, “If it sounds too good to be true it probably is!” But did you realize that physicians, especially Plastic Surgeons, face the same dilemma? There are literally hundreds of new products, techniques, and “tools” coming out every week, and every manufacturer or rep claims theirs is “the best”. So how do we deal with that … trying to stay current with our specialty but without being bamboozled? Here’s a link to Project Beauty, an Internet publication written for the public by one of my specialty societies, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), that reports about one area of that dilemma, “anti aging lasers”, and what the Society is trying to do to make it easier for both physicians and their patients to sift through the claims of some manufacturers! As usual, if you should ever have questions about my specialty, please be sure to contact me!
